Using a programming language you give the computer instructions to determine and return what day it is. A compiler translates the instruction in something the computer understands. Programming languages have been around for a long time, with some of the first high level programming languages being developed in the 1950s. Just a few modern programming languages are Python, Javascript, Elm, Typescript, Go, Ruby, Java, Objective C, Scala, Rust and many more.
