In this video, we'll create a small web application that fetches data from JSONPlaceholder, which is a server that provides access to various sets of data, like fictitious posts, users, photos, and more. You will learn to use an application programming interface (API) to fetch the data, and in a small web page, we will display part of what is returned from the server.
This is a foundational skill across the web, including for mobile devices. The web runs on APIs. If you have used Uber, GrubHub, Google Maps...if you've ever ordered something online from Amazon - you get the idea - then, you've been using APIs all along. We will learn how that all works in this video using a very simplified example, and we will expand on that in later videos to make increasingly complex web applications.
