In Python, *None* represents the absence of a value or a null value. It is an immutable singleton object of type `NoneType`. Commonly used as a default function return value or placeholder, `None` evaluates to `False` in a boolean context. It signifies "nothing" but is not equivalent to zero or empty objects.
