Friction joint 2D is used to make a gameobject that resists the forces or torque applied onto it and tries to bring the applied forces to 0. If the properties are not set on the gameobject then they don't show any behavior or if applied to any gameobject without modifying the values brings down the gameobject. When Max force property is changed then the gameobject will require that much amount of force to displace itself from its normal position and it would ultimately cancel out the force applied onto it. Similarly the break torque if applied will dampen any torque applied onto the gameobject. Break force is the amount of force that when applied to the gameobject results in breaking of the friction joint of the gameobject.
Similarly break torque is the amount of torque when applied to the gameobject results into breaking of friction joint of the gameobject. Anchor is the position on the gameobject where it is connected to. Connected anchor is the position on the connected rigidbody where this gameobject is connected to. Enable collision will result into the gameobject having the friction joint 2d attached to it collide to the gameobject that it is connected to.Connected rigidbody is the slot where you can drag any gameobject that you want to attach to this gameobject.

Friction Joint 2D is very important to understand in order to make a good game in Unity. Unity 2D has various types of joints that if one knows properly then one can make a nice 2D game. Unlike Hinge Joint which is used to make a trap door kind of object, a friction joint 2d helps in making a gameobject that acts like a resistant plank that may move a little under force or torque. People often ask as to how to make a 2d game in Unity. But if they properly follow all the basic tutorials then making a 2d platformer type of a game becomes relatively easy. Along with Unity Rigidbody if all the joints are well understood, then making a game won't be that difficult. If the Unity Collider is also learnt then one will know of the physics forces. All these are applied to a Unity sprite. If you want to make a Unity 2D game then knowing the basics is very important.
Unity Physics is very useful to understand if you want to make a budding career in game programming. In this Unity 2d tutorial i give a little explanation of the Friction joint 2D. Using Unity's 2d game engine, making a simple Unity game won't be that difficult. Friction joint works for 3d whereas Friction joint 2D works for 2D physics. In this Unity Physics tutorial you will learn everything related to Friction joint 2D. One should watch any Unity tutorial in order to start. This would be good for indie game development. You can make nice frictional games using Frictional joint 2D.
