it is time to have the Spotfire Development Environment ready. At this point you should have VSCode and node.js installed and the spotfire-mods-master.zip that contains the source code from GitHub Spotfire account. Here we start from a blank Mod template and have the Spotfire Mod Development live server up and running connected to our instance of Spotfire.

Summary of steps
-Extract the examples/js-dev-starter folder from the spotfire-mods-master.zip.
-Rename the folder to something meaninful, for example: js-diff-chart and open this folder in VSCode
-Open a terminal and run the npm install command. This will download dependencies on a new "node_modules" folder.
-Run the npm run server​​​​​​ to start the live development server. The mod-manifes.json file should open on a web browser window
-Connect Spotfire to the Development Environment live server from tools ► development ► create visualization mod and follow the prompts.
