In this video, we continue the Python Slack Bot playlist and add persistent memory to our Slack AI bot using MongoDB Atlas.
In the previous tutorials, we connected the Slack API to Python using Socket Mode and added OpenAI-powered AI replies. Now, we take the bot to the next level by storing conversation history so it can remember context across direct messages, channel mentions, and threaded replies.
We’ll walk through how Slack events are routed, how conversation IDs are created, how messages are stored in MongoDB, and how recent history is passed back into the AI model so the bot can respond with context.
