Lambda functions in Python stand as a compact way to represent small, anonymous functions.

Often referred to as "anonymous functions", "lambda expressions", or "function literals" in other programming languages, are a key concept in functional programming. They are distinct in not being bound to a specific name or identifier.

Lambda functions shine when used with built-in Python functions like `sorted()`, `filter()`, `map()`, and `reduce()`.
