About this video: Learn how to play Minecraft Java Edition with a controller using this complete guide. This will work with any controller that you can connect to your computer include Xbox, Playstation, and even the SteamDeck!

You will be using the MidnightControls mod to make everything world. There is a link to download it and the FabricAPI above. This is required for the mod to work once it is installed. When downloading the Controller Mod, make sure you are downloading it for the version of Minecraft that you want.

You will then need to download and install Fabric. This is the mod loader that will make everything work. You can find the link to get Fabric above and a guide to install it as well. We also cover this in the video. It’s super easy.

Once you have Fabric, open the Minecraft Launcher, go to Installations, hover over your Minecraft installation and click the folder icon. Find the .minecraft folder and move the controller mod and the FabricAPI into this mods folder.

Now, just play Minecraft with Fabric, and plug your controller in on the main menu. You are now playing Minecraft with the controller mod! Congratulations!
