Six weeks and 200 sq metres of strawbale wall now lime rendered! Coat after coat has been applied by hand, initially massaged into the straw and then layers added to create a uniform finished surface.The final coat has been applied after 6 weeks of hard work and about 20 tonnes of lime and sand! The building remains 'wrapped' - initially to protect the straw from the rain, but now to protect the lime from the sun - who would have thought!

Thank you lime expert Stuart Ogier who has lead this stage of the build. (As well as many a good campfire session!) And who will have to come visit again so we can prove to him that 28 degree Irish summers are not actually the norm!
