1. **Global Variables**: Declared outside functions, accessible and modifiable inside and outside functions using the `global` keyword.
2. **Local Variables**: Declared inside a function, accessible only within that function.
3. **Non-Local Variables**: Declared in an enclosing function, modifiable in nested functions using the `nonlocal` keyword.
