In this video we compare SciChart.js with Arction LightningChart JS (lcjs) in a high performance JavaScript charting benchmark. LightningChart claims it can render 100 million data points in 6.5 seconds. We put this to the test using SciChart.js, a GPU accelerated WebGL and WebAssembly powered chart library built for real time, high density data visualization.

Static drawing test: 10 series × 10,000,000 points each = 100,000,000 points total

Hardware: Razer Blade Laptop, Intel i7 12800H, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA 3080 Ti (Laptop GPU)

Result

SciChart.js – 11 seconds

LightningChart JS (lcjs) – 32 seconds, crashed at 90 million points

SciChart.js rendered 2.9 times faster than lcjs in this test, demonstrating the power of WebGL and WebAssembly optimization for real time, large scale data visualization.
