In this video, I am discussing how to approach situational questions during technical interviews:

👉 Let’s understand it using an example that everyone can relate to.
💭 Let’s say I am a sketch artist and a person comes to me and wants me to draw a man they just saw. They don’t have a picture of that man.

Should I start sketching that man right away ❓

No! because I do not have enough information to sketch that man yet.

There are some questions going through my head:

❓ What kind of eyes 👀 that person have?
❓ What kind of nose 👃 that person have?
❓ Does he have a beard 🧔 or mustache and what kind?
❓ Does he have any tattoos or piercings on his face or not?
❓ What kind of hairstyle does he have?

Should I keep those questions in my head, or should I ask these questions to the person in front?

You Guessed it right! 🎯

👉 These interviews are not just about your coding ability; they are also testing out:

📍 Your ability to think critically and spontaneously
📍 Your ability to be patient under stressful situations
📍 And your ability to follow standard protocols

👉 Your strategy should be:

1️⃣ First thing you should do is formulate some questions that increase your ability to understand the given problem at hand.
2️⃣ And do it 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃 📢
3️⃣ Then ask these questions and note down the answers to them.
4️⃣ Then formulate a strategy to answer the problem at hand.
5️⃣ Ask for feedback during this whole process.
6️⃣ Ask them if they are happy with your approach or want you to change something
7️⃣ If they are happy, write the code, and you are done.
8️⃣ If they are not happy, then repeat this whole step-by-step process all over again.
