Switch Error Code 2123-1502 Fix 🎮 2021
Switch error code 2123-1502 is currently preventing many users from downloading content, or updating games from the eShop on their Nintendo Switch.
It seems that the error was introduced with the latest 12.0.3 firmware for the Switch. In a bid to prevent more users being affected Nintendo has stopped the deployment of the firmware for now.
If you are affected by this problem and are wondering how to fix error code 2123-1502 an error has occurred then try the following steps in order to resolve the issue.
It's worth noting that there are no 'officially' recognized fixes for this problem, but a number of users have reported that some of these workarounds have helped with the error and at least temporarily allowed them to download from the Nintendo Eshop and update their downloaded titles.
Solution 1 - Clear cache
Nintendo have suggested that clearing the cache in your user profile may fix error code 2123-1502. Beware that doing so will clear your web history and saved logins - if you don't use the web browser on the Switch, then this is not something to worry about.
To clear the cache:
Go to:
System Settings
System
And then Formatting Options
Once there, select Reset and then choose the profile that you want to clear the cache for.
Once you've done that, restart your Switch then retry your download.
Solution 2 - Change your Wifi DNS Settings
We're going to change the DNS settings on our wifi connect to use the cloudflare and Google DNS servers instead of the ones provided by your Internet Service Provider.
DNS is what allows you to connect to websites using a www. Address rather than having to type in an ip address.
To change your DNS settings on the Nintendo Switch
Go to System Settings
Scroll down and select 'Internet'
Select 'Internet Settings'
A list of available Wifi connections will appear - choose the WiFi you are connected to
Select 'Change settings'
Select 'DNS settings' and change to Manual
Change the Primary DNS to 1.1.1.1 (don't worry if it changes to 001.001.001.001)
Change the Secondary to 8.8.8.8
Save, and then restart your Switch
You can also change the DNS server settings if you have a wired connection to your dock, the process is almost identical.
Solution 3 - Try and Try again
If you still can't download or update your games because of the Error Code: 2123-1502 'An error has occurred' there's still one more thing you can try.
Some people have managed to get the download to start by simply retrying the download over and over again
