The VS Code workflow for EV3 Python programming

For several years it has been possible to use the free operating system ev3dev to run Python programs on the Lego EV3 robot, but the process was never particularly simple, especially for beginners. Beginning May 2018 the process has suddenly become much easier. An extension for the free, multi-platform (Windows, MacOS, Linux) code editor Microsoft Visual Studio Code makes the process as simple as: write, save and press F5. Pressing F5 downloads the script to the EV3 and runs it there. This video demonstrates how easy it is to write and run an EV3 Python script using this workflow but does NOT show how to set up your EV3 and computer - that is the subject of a separate video.
