Or at least that is what Activision has found in their research.
Activision has released a 25 page paper deep diving how their SBMM system works.
The paper also reveals that they have been secretly testing against players to prove that players like their system.
Over the past several months they have chosen groups of players and loosened the SBMM system on their accounts,
what they have found is when SBMM isn't enabled, players play for shorter amounts of time, quit matches more often, and have worse match outcomes
compared to when SBMM is enabled.
