The basics are you have an if expression with a conditional check in between opening and closing parenthesis and if that condition evaluates to true then the code in between the opening and closing curly brace will be used by your script. If the condition evaluates to false, then it will move on to the elseif or the else, depending on which one evaluates to true first.
