Although not required by Python, ssh is a tool almost all Python programmers will use to connect to a remote computer. This session will show you how to:
log in to a remote computer
generate a public-private key pair to allow passwordless connections
copy files between computers over a secure network connection
tunnel a network connection through a firewall
create a network proxy to link a remote LAN
reverse tunnel to allow connection to devices on the mobile phone network
To follow along it would be good to have openssh installed on your computer and have a second computer (preferably Linux like a raspberry pi or a cloud VPS or a virtual PC) that you can connecting to. OpenSSH is installed by default on most Mac and Linux computers. On Windows, install Git from https://git-scm.com or install WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) or enable the OpenSSH client feature.
