Android Context API | Open Source Code Review
In this video, we did a code review of Android OS/Platform Context API Implementation. As we jump in, we found the developer's fantastic comment,
"// This is pretty inefficient, which is why ContextImpl overrides."
As we know, Android OS is installed on billions of devices, and around all of them have this code.
Next, we found. Context is an Abstract class. Next, we found a Proxy or decorator pattern to tackle Context API at runtime on the side of Context Wrapper. Then we saw how Context is passed to Android Application and Activity classes. In between this code review, we found two more design pattern usage one is Factory, and the other one is Singleton. In the end, we found the OnLowMemory method. We tried to see who was invoking this method, and in between explorations, we found an Observer Pattern, but in the end, we needed help finding who gathered the low memory method. That is okay; we will found next time.
