In this episode, we navigate Linux using the Bash terminal in a virtual machine, using Oracle Linux as the example. We work side by side with the GUI file manager to build a clear mental picture of how the terminal maps to the same filesystem. We practice the core navigation commands—pwd to see where we are, ls to list files and folders, and cd to move around—while learning tab completion. We also create and remove directories with mkdir and rmdir, use the up arrow to recall commands, and clear the screen with Ctrl+L and clear, ending with a quick look at the root directory.
