SIMTICS Simulation Modes
SIMTICS simulations of clinical and medical imaging skills are available in 3 modes:
Learn mode helps you while you are learning; guidance is provided through prompts and colored hints such as red or green arrows, and a red or green bullseye
Test mode has no colored hints, and very few prompts. A scenario is selected at random for you - you can't choose. In this way Test mode is designed to test your knowledge of the steps of the procedure, and of how to use the instruments and equipment. Scores from Test mode simulations count as a grade to be sent to your gradebook if you access SIMTICS through your school's system. Test mode scores also count towards a SIMTICS Certificate of Completion (which also requires 60 minutes of study time in the module).
We've also just released Practice mode (July 2020) - this behaves like Test mode, but the score doesn't count as a test. It's a way for you to take practice tests!
