Linux basic commands for AWS & DevOps Engineers | Basic Linux Commands for Beginners | Part C
Here are some basic Linux commands that you can use in the command-line interface:
#ls: Lists the files and directories in the current directory.
#cd: Changes the current directory. For example, cd Documents will navigate to the "Documents" directory.
#pwd: Prints the current working directory.
#mkdir: Creates a new directory. For example, mkdir NewFolder will create a directory named "NewFolder".
#rm: Removes files and directories. Use with caution, as it permanently deletes files. For example, rm file.txt will delete the file "file.txt".
#cp: Copies files and directories. For example, cp file.txt /path/to/destination will copy "file.txt" to the specified destination.
#mv: Moves or renames files and directories. For example, mv file.txt newname.txt will rename "file.txt" to "newname.txt".
#cat: Displays the contents of a file. For example, cat file.txt will display the contents of "file.txt".
#grep: Searches for specific patterns within files. For example, grep "keyword" file.txt will search for occurrences of "keyword" in "file.txt".
#chmod: Changes the permissions of a file or directory. For example, chmod 755 file.txt will set the permissions of "file.txt" to read, write, and execute for the owner, and read and execute for others.
#sudo: Executes a command with administrative privileges. For example, sudo apt-get update will update the system using the Advanced Package Tool (APT).
These are just a few basic Linux commands to get you started. There are many more commands and options available, and you can explore further as you become more comfortable with the Linux command line.
