We all know that the future of data science is not about knowing how to use Scikit Learn and other machine learning algorithms. It is about using your creativity and business understanding to create the features that you feel will make the biggest impact on your model performance. But if you are over-zealous... before you know it you have a multitude of seemingly sensible features. How do you trim these down? How do you select those features that actually help your model?
In this session, Willem van Asperen will walk us through a number of feature selection techniques, discuss their pro's and con's, end up with you bringing it to practice.
