DESCRIPTION
This week’s video is about webots controller and how to code one yourself.
To make this fun, we will do a small project of driving the differential drive robot in a polygon path. We will write the code in python in webots.
Last week we create a custom differential drive robot in webots. This week we write the controller code in Python in webots to run the robot.
This is an open loop system so we are simply sending motor commands to drive the robot in Webots. We will learn to drive the robot straight, turn in place, turn while going forward in webots. Then we will advance to writing a simple path to drive our Webot robot in a polygon of any shape.
WHAT IS WEBOTS?
Webots is a free open source software for simulation in robotics. This is a great way to learn robotics and get started in robotics without investing in expensive hardware. With webots you learn both hardware (robot modeling) and software (write code to drive robot).
