What is appcompat_v7?
appcompat_v7 is a support library for Android backward compatibility. We all know that there is a lot of versions of Android OS and each OS versions have changes to Android API, and in able for the older versions to adapt the constant changes in API, libraries such as appcompat_v7 was very helpful to make old Android versions compatible with the code written for the newer Android versions.
