Plotting longitude and latitude using vertical maps in Python offers a visually engaging way to represent geographic data, especially when using 3D bar charts. These charts enhance visual impact and emphasize differences in data like population by adding depth perception and layering. Using the Pydeck library, a CSV file containing U.S. city data was loaded and the population column was scaled for comparison. A ColumnLayer was created to represent each city with a vertical bar where height corresponds to population size. Longitude and latitude were used to position the bars accurately on the map. View parameters such as zoom, pitch, and bearing were configured to provide a dynamic and angled 3D perspective. The resulting map was rendered and exported as an interactive HTML file. This approach helps users easily identify and compare high-density urban areas across the country. Additional benefits include potential for interactivity and integration with other datasets or visualization tools. The project sources and documentation were also shared for further exploration and customization.
