What is MRO in Python? #python #coding #programming #shorts

Welcome to our YouTube video where we delve into the fascinating world of Method Resolution Operator (MRO) in Python. Have you ever wondered how Python determines which method to call when working with inheritance? In this video, we explore the need for MRO and its role in method resolution.

We begin by examining a scenario where we have a base class, Animal, with a method called speak(). We also have a derived class, Dog, that inherits from Animal and has its own method called bark(). What happens when we create an instance of Dog and call the speak() method?

Without MRO, Python would only search for the speak() method within the Dog class. However, with MRO, Python follows a specific order and searches all parent classes in the inheritance hierarchy. This ensures that Python finds the speak() method in the Animal class.

We dive deeper into MRO by exploring the MRO attribute, which provides a list of classes in the order they are searched for methods. Additionally, we introduce the inspect.getmro() function, which retrieves the same list.

Understanding MRO is crucial for working with inheritance in Python. It enables Python to identify and call the correct method when dealing with complex class hierarchies. Join us in this video to gain a comprehensive understanding of MRO and its significance in Python inheritance.
