In this video we build a complete serverless architecture where AWS Lambda securely connects to Amazon RDS MySQL using AWS Secrets Manager.

Instead of storing database passwords in code, we use Secrets Manager to securely store credentials and enable automatic password rotation.

In this hands-on DevOps tutorial you will learn:

• Create an Amazon RDS MySQL database
• Configure IAM roles for Lambda
• Create a Lambda function using Python
• Install pymysql using Lambda Layers
• Store database credentials in AWS Secrets Manager
• Enable automatic password rotation

• Create a VPC Endpoint for Secrets Manager
• Connect Lambda securely to RDS
• Execute SQL queries from Lambda
