Why I ❤️ Pascal, Part 2: It worked better with C than C did!
I'm a veteran of the Pascal vs C wars of the 90's. I preferred Pascal but I couldn't avoid C. Fortunately they work well together.

This has been my final experiment with CapCut. I don’t quite get that program. It’s got hundreds of animated “stickers” including some arrows. But I can’t find a normal PowerPoint style rectangle or arrow. There are a small handful of clipping options, including a star shape with an editor to let you configure it. But I couldn’t find an option to add rounded corners, or to use any of the standard css style of clipping options. You could scale and rotate, but not flip. Many more examples of the same.
I have been impressed by the performance. I was using OpenShot Video Editor before this. It was fine for small projects. But it was easy to overwhelm and then it became completely useless. Google-Reddit suggested, quite rudely, that I buy a newer computer and stop complaining. CapCut comes with multiple options for dealing with big projects on old hardware. I kept the defaults and I haven’t had any problems yet.
And don’t get me started on iMovie!
