Question Today: Is selenium a tool or a frame work?

My name is Kevin Owasu Itoe

Selenium is not a framework

Selenium can be used to set up some components of an automation test framework but it is a tool

Selenium is an automation test tool and used primarily for web applications

Haven said that selenium is not just a tools it's a suite of software and these are;
1. Selenium remote control - selenium RC
2. Selenium ID - record an play
3. Selenium Webdriver - Automation web application via webdriver interface
4. selenium grid - Cross browser testing

The above suite of selenium software's is used to perform different purposes within various organisations

My drive right now is teaching myself test automation using selenium webdriver with Java

My end goal is to become an automation test consultancy and contribute in shaping the future of our industry

Once i'm done with teaching myself web automation with selenium webdriver using Java and also thought myself setting up an automation test framework from scratch i will move onto mobile an API automation

So Is selenium a tool or a frame work? my answer selenium is not a framework but a tool for automating web applications
