A walkthrough of the live production environment for the LinkedIn Developer Portal. This project involved a complete architectural overhaul of how third-party developers discover, integrate, and manage LinkedIn APIs.
Key Design Challenges & Solutions:
The "Homeless" Content Problem: Previously, documentation, app management, and support were fragmented across different subdomains. I unified these into a single integrated dashboard to create a seamless "Developer Home."
Information Architecture: I redesigned the global navigation to prioritize the developer's most frequent tasks: API discovery, app creation, and analytics.
Onboarding Flow: The walkthrough demonstrates the simplified "Create App" journey, which reduced friction for new developers and led to a significant increase in successful API integrations.
Design for Scale: You’ll see the flexible UI framework I built to handle complex data-heavy tables and analytics charts, ensuring the portal remains performant even for enterprise-level partners with hundreds of active applications.
Results: This redesign was recognized by LinkedIn’s Chief Product Officer as a "night-and-day difference," ultimately doubling the adoption of key conversion tracking tools and establishing a new standard for developer experience (DX) at LinkedIn.
