Hello guys , this video is focuses on IFS ( internal field separator ) shell variable and use of IFS in shell scripting during field splitting and with positional arguments . I started with explaining the meaning of IFS shell variable with multiple example . Then , I discussed about default IFS shell variable value and the meaning of $ ( dollar ) when used before a single quoted string . After that I elaborated with examples , the usage of IFS shell variable during field splitting in shell scripting . Field splitting mainly occurs during parameter expansion,command substitution and arithmetic expansion. At end , I explained the usage of IFS with command line arguments.
