Version control has become crucial for any type of software development project including scientific programs. No matter if you are developing a small numerical computing program or a big customized finite element solver, you need to use version control tools for a wide variety of reasons. In this video, we talk about these reasons and take a look at Git, the commonly used tool for version control, especially in open source software development.
