One more video exploring the mini system, this time instead of sampling the modular into the Digitakt I'm just recording it straight in the interface. I mainly focus on the modulation inputs of the WMD/SSF MMF as well as how I use a few plug-ins to further process one sound from the modular; trying to stretch it as much as I can to make it feel more complex/complete. Same thing with the Digitakt, trying to bring texture out of a simple beat.
I've been realising after a while that this is really an underlying theme in all the videos... trying to stretch simples sequences or sounds to make them appear more than what they are. Usually I'm doing this using the modular as much as I can but I love using plug-ins to process stuff too. Duplicating an output from the Verbos Complex Oscillator to process it with a different module in the modular is very similar in principle to using Gaffel to separate your sounds in the audio spectrum and apply different FX afterwards. Different tools, different results, discoveries along the way.
Hope you find this glimpse into my Ableton session interesting.
