window.onload Doesn't Work, Images Not Finished Loading - Javascript

Javascript window.onload problem. It doesn't work. Or it fires before images are loaded. I faced this stupid problem. It's almost like the JQuery document ready function instead. It's not supposed to. It's supposed to wait till everything is loaded. In the end I found out that using window.addEventListener("load", function(){}); worked!
