Compiling Opensimulator from the source code is not a daunting job at all contrary to the common belief.
This video shows how to do it step by step very easily and that's on Linux.
The only commands I typed in are
i) cd Downloads ( cd stands for "change directory")
ii) cd opensim-master.
Benefits are the following:
1. You can get and enjoy the latest code/features instantly.
2. You can experiment to the fullest extent and can gain knowledge and confidence.
3. You may help the community by reporting the bugs etc.
4. You may feel inspired to learn and contribute your own code.
But there is one major advantage :p
You may nag the devs to speed up the opensim development when you meet them in RL or VL and telling them how impatiently you are waiting for the new / requested features. Sometimes they "love" your genuine and educated appraisal too. :)
Thanks for watching.
