API PERFORMANCE/LOAD TESTING WITH POSTMAN.
Postman finally blew the roof with a superb feature.
You can now perform LOAD/PERFORMANCE tests on your API - simulating/mocking real users and generating real-time metrics from the performance of your API.
I made this very comprehensive video showing how to carry out load/performance tests on your API inside of Postman.
Performance testing in Postman is just awesome and mind-blowing. With it, you can generate metrics like:
1. The response time(in real-time).
2. Number of requests per second during the test(throughput).
3. Error rate. And
4. The number of requests happening in real time.
And more…
You can even view the performance/load report of each endpoint (individually) from the “Filter by request” dropdown menu.
You can also get to see issues like:
Requests with slowest response times.
Requests with the most errors.
Metric for each request.
And more…
Beyond just conducting a private performance/load test, postman allows you to share the performance/load testing report with your teammates. You can invite teammates (making the workspace a team workspace if it isn’t already.
You CAN EVEN GENERATE A PDF VERSION OF THE LOAD/PERFORMANCE TESTING REPORT and share it with anyone else.
This is just AWESOME!!!
