Ecosystems
An ecosystem is a community of living organisms, such as plants, animals, and microorganisms, interacting with each other and their physical environment, including air, water, and soil. It consists of biotic factors like producers, consumers, and decomposers, along with abiotic factors like sunlight, water, and minerals. Energy flows through the ecosystem as organisms consume each other, while nutrients like carbon and nitrogen cycle between living and non-living components. Ecosystems can vary in size and type, from forests and grasslands to oceans and freshwater lakes, and are vital for maintaining balance in nature, though they are vulnerable to disruptions from human activities.
