The colspan HTML table cell attribute allows you to merge cells. You can merge as many cells as you need to. This attribute is very similar to rowspan which allows you to merge cells vertically. There are few things to note. Colspan must be applied to regular table cells (td) or table header cells (th). When you apply colspan you must remove the other table cell entries that you are trying to merge into one. If you can follow those two basic instructions you'll be up and running with colspan in no time.
