Coding for Beginners: The Source Type Attribute
The type attribute specifies a MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) type. This defines what type of file it is and the browser decides if it is a supported type. If not, it will be skipped. It will cycle through all the image file types until it gets to a file type that is supported which is typically the default image you have included in your image element src attribute.
