This is a video about the difference between discrete and continuous quantities and why that's important in computing.

"Pixel resolution: The term resolution is often considered equivalent to pixel count in digital imaging, though international standards in the digital camera field specify it should instead be called "Number of Total Pixels" in relation to image sensors, and as "Number of Recorded Pixels" for what is fully captured" - (Wikipedia)

Please note in this video I refer to the resolution of an image using the "pixel resolution" definition given above. some confusion can arise when people mix this up with "spatial resolution", for example "pixels per inch" or "dots per inch".

Topics covered:

Calculating pixel resolution of images
What is a discrete quantity?
What is a continuous quantity?
How do discrete quantities relate to computing?
Why computers are bad at decimals
