This video discusses about Backup Encryption process including encryption algorithm and encryptor (certificate or symmetric key). We also discussed about the importance of backing up certificate and private key to the offsite location so that it can be retrieved during any disasters. If we lose encryption certificate or private key, we won't be able to decrypt the encrypted backup.

We then discussed on the process to restore the backup and we have demonstrated the procedure to take encrypted backup of a database. This includes the following steps:

1. Create a database master key (DMK).
2. Create a backup certificate
3. Create an encrypted database backup.

We then demonstrated the process to restore this encrypted backup:

1. BAC KUP CERTIFICATE in the old database.
2. CREATE MASTER key in the new location master database.
3. CREATE CERTIFICATE from the backup certificate of the old database
imported to a location on the new server.
4. Restore the database to a new location.

We then talked about the benefits of using encrypted databases. We also discussed about the prerequisites and restrictions applicable before taking any encrypted backups. We finally talked about the recommended practices for taking encrypted database backups.
