In SQL, a multi-statement table-valued function (MSTVF) is a user-defined function that returns a table as its result. Unlike inline table-valued functions (ITVFs), which are defined using a single SELECT statement, MSTVFs allow you to use multiple SQL statements within the function body to perform more complex data transformations and calculations before returning the final result set.
