It's complicated for a computer to render these things in real time, but not complicated to dream up what to tell the computer to do.

Doing real time animations that are very complex you an save frame by frame then create a giant video file to then play the output. It's not possible for it to be interactive, nor is it in real time. The complexity can be nearly infinite, but is limited by the systems video playback capabilities. Trying to do complicated things then expecting it to be able to run in 1080p is going to take a while if at nearly indistinguishable quality.
