In this video tutorial you will learn how to change the header of a WordPress site by editing the header.php file.
As an example we will insert a scrolling banner into a wordpress page.
The same technique can be used to insert any valid HTML JavaScript or PHP code in the header section of the site..
Editing is done direct from the WordPress control panel using the inbuilt editor.
Because the header.php file is part of your template switching or upgrading the template will delete the changes you have made and so this is considered only a temporary solution for testing.
A better solution is to create a child theme and edit the header.php file in the child theme.
