Bit is the smallest and basic unit of data in a computer.
It also explains the reasons why computers use binary numbers.
The computers are made up of billions of transistors. The binary digits could be easily used to represent the
ON-OFF states of transistors.
The use of binary numbers also reduces the computer circuitry.
