In this video we are going to learn about the shell and linux terminal emulators, So, what is a shell.
The shell is a program that takes keyboard commands and passes them to the operating system to carry
out certain tasks.
All linux distro has the shell, most linux distro has the Bash as a default shell. Bash is an acronym for
"Bourne Again shell"
While we are using graphical interface we need to interact with the shell and to interact with a shell we need a program called terminal emulators. If you are using KDE you console and if you are the
gnome user you probably used gnome-terminal, generally, we call them a terminal.
There are number of terminal emulators available for linux, but they basically do the same thing, ie giving access
to the shell.
