Sql Aggregate Functions - Group By and Having
Generally in SQL, aggregate functions cannot typically be used directly in the where clause. Where statement process individual rows and is used to filter rows before grouping or aggregation occurs. Aggregate functions on the other hand process group of rows.
Because the WHERE condition processes and filters individual rows before any grouping occurs, it cannot directly reference aggregate functions.
Instead Having clause in SQL is used to filter the results of a query based on groups created by group by.
