Alexa Micklem is the 14th guest the Engineering Rebuilt podcast.
Alexa is a senior engineering consultant for Mott MacDonald working in the highways and infrastructure sector.
After a terrible work experience within a law firm at secondary school, Alexa realised that she wanted something more from her career and landed on Civil Engineering to be that career.
After completing her master's in engineering degree Alexa became Chartered with the ICE during the COVID-19 pandemic, and was one of the first candidates to be interviewed via a remote link, a practise within the ICE which is now continued post the pandemic.
In this episode Alexa tells Yvonne and Lina what's it like working within the highway and infrastructure sector, getting involved with STEM, and she tells us what she would like to see change in the industry in the next 5 years.
