Learn how to animate variable fonts in After Effects using the new After Effects Beta update.

This tutorial covers variable font axes (weight, width, slant, optical size, bounce, etc.), how to import and use variable fonts, how to animate them with text animators, and where to download free Adobe Fonts and Google Fonts that support variable axes. Perfect for kinetic type, motion graphics, and modern text animation workflows.

Variable fonts are now supported in the After Effects beta — which means smoother kinetic type, fewer duplicate fonts, and way more control. In this video I’ll show you:

• Where to find variable fonts (free + paid)
• How to use them inside After Effects
• What you can animate with them
• My favourite free variable fonts to get you started
