Render different parts of your scene with different renderes to increase render time.
I'm sure that once this was known as Render Layers in blender, but now It's View Layers. Essentially you can use this method to mask one Render Layer with the contents of another. It takes into consideration the depth of the masking object so you can simply composite one layer onto the other.
